An independent, family-run workshop in Exeter, creating beautifully upholstered furniture around the way you live.

Our story

A family business, built from scratch

Sofarooms was established by Paul in Exeter in 2006, shaped by a lifelong appreciation for antiques and furniture that earns its place in a home.

With City & Guilds training in traditional upholstery and cabinet making, Paul began with a simple conviction: furniture should be comfortable, personal and made well enough to keep.

Today, our small, skilled team continues that approach in our Exeter workshop. We make sofas, chairs, footstools and headboards by hand, and restore much-loved pieces through our re-upholstery service.
